Generally, as a Shared Owner, you’re responsible for all repairs and maintenance needed to keep your home in good order.
If you live in a house or apartment newly built by Tower Homes, your home will come with some guarantees.
Most of our new homes are covered by a ‘Defects Liability Period’ (DLP). During the DLP, the Builder is usually responsible for putting right any faults in service (heating, plumbing and electrical) which appear in the first 12 months.
The Defects Liability Period is usually 12 months long starting from the day we take handover of your home from the Builder. Please remember that in most cases this won’t be the day you bought your home.
If you find something that needs attention during the DLP, please contact our dedicated After Sales free phone number, 0800 056 5208, between 8.30am and 5.30pm. If the problem is covered by the Builders guarantee, we’ll inform them immediately and ask them to put it right.
Toward the end of the DLP we’ll write to ask for an appointment when the Builder can visit your home to agree any other jobs which are still necessary. You will then be offered an appointment by the Builder to undertake the agreed end of defect works.
The After Sales Team are also responsible for organising the cyclical decorations programme for the apartment blocks and our in-house buildings surveyor, Joseph Wallis, is on hand to assist with any building defects you may experience.
